St Peter Cyahafi parish is one of 28 parishes of Kigali archdiocese founded by Bishop Thadee Ntihinyurwa on 31st August 2003 and gave it African Missionaries to be responsible for it. It is located in Kigali city, Nyarugenge district, it covers 4 sectors Kimisagara sector as whole, part of Rwezamenyo Sector, part of Gitega Sector and a small part of Nyakabanda Sector. It has about 12000 Christians enrolled in 4 centrals and 25 ecclesial basic communities. This parish in its location it neighbors with other religions around who believes in Jesus and those who doesn’t like Jehovah witnesses and Islam and according to African Missionaries Christian revival in that area is not easy due to the fact of life in cities where people are super busy working on improvement of their standard of living, and this place is also among poor places in Kigali city, and again there’s concentration of multi-cultural existence due to the existence of many religions and settlement of people from different parts of the country and from abroad. So it is kind surprising and hard to call up on priests from that place.
